Cruising Around

Dominican Republic and Bimini, Bahamas in December 2024

Each Caribbean island is vastly different from the last. Each holds its unique flare thats equally entertaining and passionately Caribbean.

Dominican Republic

In the Dominican Republic, we went on tours, got to see creative artwork, and experienced the Hispanic culture that makes up the DR. I loved their use of color; their cities felt vibrant and lively.

Bimini

Bimini was my favorite out of the two locations. Miller’s dad, Bill, is originally from Bimini, so we actually had the perfect balance of playing tourist and getting our own personal local guide. Bill took us to meet some of his extended family, and we sat and chatted for a while. It was enticing to follow the beaten path and stumble across the beautiful water. Sharing a conch salad and Sands Light was my favorite memory. I love being able to find joy and cherish the quiet and peaceful moments. And of course, we had to still go to the cruise port for a delicious lunch and swim on the beach.

Bimini was also such a joy to experience, as I love telling people I live in the Bahamas. I want to continue to explore the Bahamian islands as each one comes with its own charm and unique features.

The cruise experience itself was absolutely divine. The culinary creations were exquisite, and the entertainment was exceptional. We love food, so being able to try unique things made the experience even better. One of the nights, we even enjoyed a dinner and a show with a sword-swallowing man, acrobats, and more.
